COLOR TONER INSTRUCTIONS
COLOR TONER INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Always refill in a well ventilated environment, preferably outside or at a workbench
1. Turn the handle of the cartridge to
the LOCKED position, which is the
bottom setting as shown in the
picture above.
2. Forcefully but carefully, move the
handle of the cartridge AWAY from
the cartridge as shown in this picture
above. Once the handle is removed,
you have exposed a white plastic
sealing cap.
3. Carefully Remove the white plastic
sealing cap with a screwdriver, do not
damage the plastic just maneuver it
away from the cartridge. Sometimes
there is another plastic cap hidden
underneath the first sealing cap, this
can also be removed with a screwdriver
(you can also push away at the 2nd
plastic plug through the small hole
which is on the back of the cartridge)
4. After the sealing caps have been removed, you have exposed the filling hole. Connect
the pouring spout to the toner refill bottle and pour it into the cartridge slowly. When full,
replace all plastic caps and the end piece of the cartridge just the way they were when you
started refilling. Turn the handle to the unlocked position, and follow your printer manual
instructions on how to install the cartridge into the printer.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
If the Dell 3100 printer does not recognize the refilled cartridge, follow these steps:
1) Restart the printer by turning it off for 2-3 minutes, then turning it back on
2) After the printer has restarted, take out the cartridge and shake it and reinstall it
3) If these steps dont work, try removing waste toner from the waste hopper. The reason for this is because if the machine sees too
much toner in the waste hopper, it may think the cartridge is empty.
