* Without the smartchip replacement the cartridge will not register
as a "new" cartridge as the printer will think it is empty. Sometimes
you can overide this sensor with a manual procedure which we include with our
refill instructions, but it may not always work to successfully reset the HP
2600 cartridges. The only guaranteed way to reset the cartridge successfully
is to replace the chip, which not only allows the printer to recognize it as
new - but it also restores the toner level system so you can monitor how much
toner is left.
