The difference between the 22 tri-color and the 58 photo color is that the dye-based HP 22 Tri-Color Inkjet Print Cartridge is designed for low-volume printing, and only holds 5ml of ink while the 58 photo cartridge is fade resistant and designed for high volume photo printing and also it conatins over 3 times the amount of ink (17ml's).
And of course the obvious detail is the price of the cartridge.
