7760 - Xerox 7760 Toner Chips

I have received what i beleive to be European toners for my 7760 and have an American model. What i would like to do is just get the correct chips so i can use them. Should this be possible? The toners fit, they say they are for 7760 but have slightly different part numbers, and they don't register in the printer as the right toners.
